CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT: Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sioux Falls

It’s time for another exciting Customer Spotlight! Our Customer Spotlight series gives us the opportunity to highlight real and praiseworthy organizations who are leveraging the power of CERVIS to mobilize volunteers and make a positive impact.

Serving the largest city in South Dakota, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sioux Falls is a beacon of hope and community spirit. Their mission seeks to put God's love into action, bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope. In 2023, 875 volunteers donated over 15,400 hours and were the driving force behind the construction of 7 new homes in the Greater Sioux Falls area. These dedicated volunteers also completed 97 home repair projects for local homeowners in Minnehaha, Lincoln, and Turner counties. We were privileged to hear from their Volunteer Coordinator, Brittany Bandstra, who shared how CERVIS comes alongside their team as they empower volunteers to be the heart of change.

Tell us about your volunteers: 

Without volunteers, we wouldn't be able to make a difference in our community! They are vital to our mission! It is impressive how much volunteers can make a difference. We have volunteers in our ReStore serving as cashiers and helping in our warehouse, doing projects with Deconstruction and Neighborhood Revitalization, and they also build 8-10 homes with us each year on New Construction!

We are proud to build alongside our future homeowners and members of the Greater Sioux Falls community in order to build a better community. Last year we had over 600 new volunteers at our organization! It is great to have recurring volunteers, but it is also great to expand our volunteer outreach in our community!

Tell us about working with CERVIS:

With having so many volunteers in so many different areas of our mission, it is necessary to have a volunteer management system that helps me keep everything organized and running smoothly! CERVIS is easy for me to use as the volunteer coordinator, but it is also easy to use as a volunteer. We depend on making sure that our volunteer data is tracked and easy to pull, and CERVIS does an amazing job of making sure that every report we need can be created. They have a great customer service team that is always available if I have any questions or need clarification on how to pull a specific report.

It is hard to pick one favorite feature! I love that CERVIS is customizable to our volunteer management needs and the customer service team is fantastic to work with! The monthly webinars may be my favorite though; they go over different topics every month and allow me to save them to reference them later. I really appreciate the ones that go over end-of-year reporting. It is nice to get a refresher before pulling the data we need.
